Who We Are

We’re a 5th generation industrial construction company that builds, installs and maintains corporate plants and facilities for national and international companies. Our expertise in mechanical, electrical, fabrication and instrumentation is honed with engineering know how to create a seamless, more efficient process for our customers. Working across industries our staff is credentialed and accustomed to upholding the safety and construction standards from the dirtiest water treatment plants to the most pristine pharmaceutical labs.

M. Davis & Sons, Inc. began as a tinsmith shop in 1870, and has evolved to become a leader in industrial construction, fabrication, and maintenance. Now in its fifth generation M. Davis is proud to maintain facilities for Fortune 500 companies as well as government agencies.   • Edward R. Davis Founder 1870 when he began his tinsmith company in Wilmington, Delaware.

  • Marcellus Davis, Sr. Took over the business in 1910 and expanded it to include a tinsmith shop and store.

  • Marcellus "Pete" Davis, Jr. Joined in 1948. He created the foundation for today's M. Davis expanding into industrial services and including warm air and air conditioning capabilities.

  • Charles R. Davis Presided over M. Davis’ evolution into the company it is today. He joined the company in 1954 and is currently active in its management. Charles’ vision and drive dramatically expanded the company’s expertise, services, and industries served.

  • Peggy (Davis) Del Fabbro Joined M. Davis in 1987 and is now CEO. Peggy has been the driving force behind our WBENC certification. Peggy along with her father Charles Davis, and partner John Bonk, have built a company with solid values and a commitment to being on the cutting edge of technology which has made M. Davis the leader it is today.

M. Davis is committed to the principles of sustainable performance and corporate social responsibility. These principles are integral to our business strategy. While carrying out their responsibilities, all M. Davis employees are expected to adhere to our high legal, ethical and moral standards. Our behavior needs to be above the business norms with regard to courtesy, conflict of interest, corruption and confidential information.

Expectations:

  • M. Davis will always provide a safe and healthy work place for our employees and suppliers. It is expected that our suppliers will be compliant with local and national laws and regulations on occupational health and safety. They must have all required permits and licenses in place. It is required that they have a documented health and safety program in place with all appropriate safety infrastructure and equipment.
  • All employees will be paid at least minimum wage as stipulated by national law.
  • There will be no discrimination against employees for exercising their rights such as submitting complaints to management.
  • Suppliers shall not use labor that is forced to work overtime or under the legal minimum age. Minors shall not be hired to perform work that is hazardous or harmful to their health.
  • Workplace discrimination to include but not be limited to the following; gender, sexual orientation, race, age or religion; will not be tolerated on any level.
  • M. Davis and its suppliers shall respect and comply with all environmental regulatory requirements at the local and national level. All activities will have the appropriate environmental permits and licenses in place.
  • M. Davis and its suppliers shall systematically manage their environmental impacts with respect to energy, water, waste, chemicals and air pollution and set objectives to reduce our impact. Opportunities to improve our projects’ environmental foot print through programs like LEED will be aggressively pursued.
  • No M. Davis employees or any of its suppliers will request or accept any financial or other consideration that has the purpose of securing a contractual or personal advantage.

It is not only about social responsibility, but also a need to find and partner with the most competitive and innovative companies we can find. We Give Back

Many of our employees also volunteer their personal time and donate funds to make our community a better place to live and work.

  • Vocational Schools – we have been a long-time advocate of the vocational system in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland and have provided resources to students interested in learning a trade. From career days to hiring co-ops, we know that working with young people helps our organization workforce stay strong.
  • Marcellus Davis Jr. Scholarship – This engineering scholarship at the University of Delaware is named for Marcellus (Pete) Davis, Jr. who propelled the company forward.
  • Delaware Nature Conservancy – We help the Delaware Nature Conservancy by participating and sponsoring the Dogfish Dash, an annual 5K/10K running event hosted by Dogfish Head Brewery.
  • Delaware Rotary – We support the endeavor of the Delaware Rotary. Their mission statement: “to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.”
  • Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program – M. Davis team members help provide holiday gifts to needy children in the local community.
  • Stockings for Soldiers – M. Davis donates each year to Stockings for Soldiers to help our troops overseas during the holiday season.
