Abingdon Waste Water

Construction of a 10 MGD expansion to the existing facility

Project Details

Work consisted of the multi-floor installation in four buildings of new sanitary and domestic water services for

  • Restrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Laboratory
  • Commercial Space
  • HVAC and mechanical systems

With the exception of the insulation and ATC controls, all of the work was performed by M. Davis employees, who completed the entire scope of work in 10,723 man hours. The installation work was done in phases over a period of approximately three years, performed in parallel with some of the demolition and removal work. The key scheduling concern was that the existing water treatment process could never be stopped; this required M. Davis to perform selective demolitions and relocation/storage of equipment in other areas that had a later in-use date. That way, temporary facilities could be set up to keep the plant fully operational.
